Education Committee

The Education Committee (EDC) reports to the Board of Directors of the Delaware Bankers Association Financial Education Alliance (DBA/FEA) which is a 501(c)(3) Delaware Corporation that provides financial literacy training designed for and targeted to persons of low- and moderate-income in the State of Delaware through a variety of educational programs.  The DBA/FEA is also a provider of quality training programs available to employees of DBA member banks in the financial services industry in Delaware.

Among other programs, the EDC sponsors and coordinates various financial education initiatives for students including Keys to Financial Success, a semester course for high school juniors and seniors; Teach Children to Save Day for elementary school children; and, Senior Credit Day for high school seniors.  The Teach Children to Save Day Committee is a subcommittee of the Education Committee.

The Education Committee is comprised of no less than ten (10) representatives from Members who serve in three (3) year terms as appointed by the Board.  The Education Committee meets on a quarterly basis and reports to the Board through the DBA President or his/her designee at its next regularly scheduled meeting following each Education Committee meeting. Attendance at the meetings is restricted to Education Committee members except by special invitation.

The Mission of the Education Committee is to oversee all levels of educational opportunities for all of the Association’s Members and the Community.  This Mission is accomplished when Association Members and the Community are offered timely and informative seminars, degree programs and bank related schools that meet the diverse needs of the DBA Membership and the Community.
