Meet The Great Investo (a good money magician, but not quite the besto), and his assistant Penny. To illustrate the concept of compound interest, Investo creates his Astounding, Abounding, Compounding Machine. Unfortunately, as with most things Investo tried, the results aren't exactly as he planned. Good thing Penny's there to set things right!
The Great Investo and the Astounding, Abounding, Compounding Machine is a fun and memorable way to introduce children to the vitally important concept of saving.
The 50 page storybook is written in the anapestic tetrameter, the lighthearted, memorable rhyming scheme employed in many Dr. Seuss books and the classic poem: T'was the Night Before Christmas. The book is geared to third and fourth graders and up, and includes three pages of lessons in the back for parents and educators.
Here's a sample illustration and its accompanying stanza:

"I have here a gadget that makes all things increase,
From the largest of large to the least of the least.
It's really quite simple, it's really no trouble.
I put one thing in this side and out there it's double.
But it doesn't stop there, my machine keeps on going,
Making two into four, so that things keep on growing.
And what do I call this, what is its name,
This splendid contraption that will bring me great fame?
The most marvelous sight that's ever been seen,
My astounding, abounding, compounding machine!"
